When choosing my Foundation dogs, I considered carefully:
Health, temperament, drive, structure, workability and conformation.
My dogs share my home, and they are loved dearly. I train them myself, and spend most of my time with my dogs.
Because I expect them to do well in performance rings and in conformation, it is very important to me that they have the structure that allows them to be successful, the talent to perform, and health that will keep them with me for as long as possible.
Mackland dogs are only bred after hip scores of A or B are confirmed, clear elbows, and DNA eye results that are guaranteed free of hereditary conditions.
Shetland Sheepdogs are cleared of Collie Eye Anomaly, Progressive Retinal Atrophy (CNGA1), Ivermectin Sensitivity MDR1, Degenerative Myleopathy, Von Willebrands Disease Type III, Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia, Gallbladder Mucoele Formation, Juvenile Dermatomyositis & Pyruvate Dehydrogenase Phosphatase Deficiency.
Border Collies are cleared of Cobalamin Malabsorption: Cubilin Deficiency, Collie Eye Anomaly/ Choroidal Hypoplasia, Goniodysgenesis & Glaucoma, Primary Lens Luxation, Degenerative Myleopathy, Ivermectin Sensitivity MDR1 (Multiple Drug Resistance), Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 5, Myotonia Hereditaria, Raine Syndrome Dental Hypomineralisation, Trapped Neutrophil Syndrome, Von Willebrands Disease Type II, Exercise Induced Collapse
Some new tests are being added all the time, and we try and keep up with them as far as we can!
