Seven is a registered black-tri
Australian Shepherd born in Johannesburg, South Africa.
She was one of Seven puppies in the litter (the only bitch) bred by
Mary Mary.
She began her puppy obedience training the first week she arrived in Port
Elizabeth. She also excelled in her agility training, with
advanced techniques being applied for her age.
She
started competing in Dog Jumping in February
2003, at 15 months, and in Agility in June
2003, at 19 months. This little dog loves Agility! Seven was the
EP reserve in Bloemfontein in 2003 for the Dog Jumping Inter-Provincial, and
she was in the team that paced 2nd overall in 2004.
Currently she has been entered in
breed, and obtained Reserve Best Puppy at her first show.
She later was awarded a number of RC's as well as a 2x QCs and a Best of Breed.
She has
entered the Canine Good Citizen Test, passing with
flying colours. She also has her CD qualification (Companion Dog). Seven
began entering obedience late in 2002, and has qualified in Class B, and is
currently ready to compete in Class C.
She was the first Australian
Shepherd to obtain a QC in Dog Jumping in South Africa, as well as the first
in Contact Agility and Non-Contact Agility. It was at this point that
Seven took a break from breed showing & Obedience, and concentrated fully on Agility &
Jumping.
Seven has taken the
Eastern Province Top Dog Jumping Dog at our local Port
Elizabeth Dog Jumping Championship show weekend in
2004. She became a Dog
Jumping Champion in April 2004, the first Aussie in SA to do so.
In addition she earned the title Reserve KUSA Dog Jumping Dog at the KUSA
Nationals in 2004.
Seven won numerous
Agility QC's in 2005, easily making her up as an Agility Champion, and then
Non-Contact Champion in 2006, making her the first triple Working Aussie
Champion in SA! In addition she got the second Non-Contact QC overall in South
Africa.
Seven also loves
Flyball and dancing with dogs. Her greatest
achievement to date has
been in making the SA squad to attend the Agility World Championships in
Switzerland in 2006. Unfortunately, due to a family emergency, we never got
there.
Seven qualified for her Provincial Colours in both Dog Jumping and
Agility in 2006, and she was awarded them in April 2007, at the PE Dog
jumping Championship Show weekend.
The highlight of Seven's career was achieving Reserve SA Agility Champion
in June 2007. She also was awarded 1st place in South Africa's National team
at the same event.
Seven managed a brilliant round that awarded her 3rd place in the KUSA
National Non-Contact Agility event in June 2007.
In September, after a few more Agility QC's, Seven won overall top
Contact dog at the South Coast Shows.
In March 2008, Seven obtained her FDx title (Flyball Dog Excellent). She was one of the joint three
first dogs in the Eastern Province to do so. In addition Seven, the
third Aussie made up as Flyball champion in SA at the end of 2008.
In June 2008 Seven won Contact Agility 3 at the KUSA Championship Show, and
placed 5th in the SA Championships.
While on a break from
jumping in 2009, Seven has been training in Carting. She has won her
QC's and is now a Carting Champion too!! This makes Seven a 5-way
champion, the only dog in South Africa to achieve this!
